A Song wot I Wrote
I've never written a song
I don't really know how to play the Ukulele
So when asked by a friend to write her a song celebrating her recovery from the removal of a tumour, I grabbed my daughter for assistance and away we went.
It should be noted that the "choir" were mostly reading the lyrics for the first time
Song for Sam
First it was some numbness, but not one t’make a big fuss,
Sam tolerated legs that were not fun
But then it got much worse-er*, causing her to curse her,
Doctor, who she browbeat to action
Chorus
Sam tumtetum**, Medical Marvel,
Sam tumtetum, All better now
Sam tumtetum, Shed the Meany Bean***
Marvellous Medical Miracle - Sam
The Surgeon said I am keen to, remove this meany bean,
That’s growing on you spinal column there
If it goes uncheck’d, you’ll end up like a Dalek****,
And have to get some very special stairs
Bridge
We’ll operate next week, You’ll soon be on your feet,
and by soon I mean about six months off work
The op went off quite smoothly, and Sam could move her tootsies*****,
Not ready yet then for a body tag******
Despite feeling quite chipper, The scar was like a zipper and,
made her look like a pyjama bag
Repeat Chorus
The recovery was speedy, gardening by Tuesday,
pumped on painkillers throughout the day
To avoid a relapse, she actually had to relax,
Hence the mended Sam we have today
Repeat Chorus
Final Chorus
Sam tumtetum, Medical Marvel
Sam tumtetum, Back on her feet
Sam tumtetum, even back at work
Marvellous Medical Miracle - Sam
Cornwall Day 5 - The Eden Project Pt1
Hot tip, do the Eden Project on a hot day, everyone heads to the coast and it is not very (well, not as) busy. What a fab day worth the initially unnerving entry cost (although we Tesc-voucher-ed it).
First part: Stuff outside the domes:
